Vogue 9197- The Corrected Muslin

Hi! I just want to share the original corrected muslin of Vogue 9197. I probably should have shared this before the princess seamed version (eye roll) but it’s OK, better late then never. Actually, I noticed I only showed pictures of the issues and never the full dress. In this post, I talked about the issues I had when trying to get this fit on the this version (side dart). Like the princess seamed version, the bodice is a little short but good for the dress.

I believe the fit is very good and the adjustments made are in this post. The only difference between the other versions of this dress is that the skirt is pleated as opposed to gathered and that this has a side dart. I unpicked the neckline and shoulder and adjusted both the shoulder and neckline (very proud of myself). I have a stack of garments that need to be altered or fixed so this was big!


Looking for the Golden hour and the sun so I can be illuminated lol

This fabric is cotton and when I purchased it from someone’s destash, I was told it was Ankara or African fabric. This fabric is actually a fabric from Joann Fabric and Craft. I really like the green and the print and I think it will be a good St. Patrick’s day dress. I may also shorten it an inch or so (no promises) and wear with a belt next time.

What’s up next? I’ve already finished the Bootstrap patterns bodice sloper and that will be next week’s post, hopefully I can make an actually top from it between now and next week. I have an alteration I’m working on and a gown so not sure when I’ll get to it.
