I’m always looking for pants patterns that are comfortable, easy to sew, and versatile enough to work with different fabrics. The Lane Pants by Syd Graham Patterns checked all three boxes for me. I’m supper late to the party, but that’s nothing new lol. I’ve already made two pairs one casual and one dressier and I can definitely see a few more in my future. More Pajamas, which are the best?
I can say, I didn’t enjoy the process of making pajamas because I’m lazy, but I love the results. I know I complained about the piping, but sewing really is about the journey. Out of all the hard things, piping isn’t as challenging as a hand bound button hole, but it wasn’t the zoom, zoom fast sewing either, it took a few extra steps to add piping, and French seams throughtout, but very much worth it. The one thing I like about sportswear is that it can be dressed up or down and it can be mixed and matched. I love when my clothes work double duty. Don’t love when your projects look like you did a lot of work? I do, but I have to admit, it’s all in the print. Picking the right floral print can be tricky for me sometimes. Do I want a large print or small, do I want realistic looking flowers or no? This pattern is sort of a rite of passage for sewist. I tried it to see for myself what the fuss is/was about and I must admit, it’s a keeper!
