DIY Square Neck Concord T Shirt Dress Hack
Are you sick of seeing me in T-shirt dresses yet? No, great, I don’t have any plans on stopping, T-shirt dresses are awesome! I recommend everyone that sews get a few TNT (tried and true) patterns. There’s nothing like just getting in there, cutting the fabric and sewing it up, no surprises! I can’t tell you what your machine will do, but if you haven’t fluctuated too much on your weight, the pattern should be good to go. So, speaking of fluctuating, I tend to measure myself almost every time I make a new pattern, if its more on the fitted side. I do a quick measurement of my bust, waist and hip, one inch could be a problem if the garment is more close fitting, but that’s just me. I’m all for reducing frustration, and the one thing that sends me over is something that doesn’t fit!

I’ve made this dress tons of times, and I haven’t made any adjustments so I’ll link to construction post here and here. That’s the beauty of TNT patterns, there’s no guess work, but if you make any modifications, you will have to change your construction details. I have a few more ideas for modifications and some regular tshirt dresses in my future. This pattern will get lots of use so stay tuned, you never know when I’ll get a new idea or some inspiration. About this square neck/ boat neck top, there are a few tutorials out there here here and here. My corners aren’t perfect, but my next one will be much better. I used a double knit remnant from Joanns (a while ago) and basically traced off the front piece so I could mess around with the neckline.
I just couldn’t see myself buying another tshirt pattern just for the neckline, seems like a waste of money and time with fitting. I don’t know about you, but I have enough patterns, I need to learn how to make changes to what already works for me.
What do you think about the square neck, do you have a favorite neckline and T-shirt dress pattern?
