Pattern Review: S8332+ summer dress

Wow, the summer has flown by and I’ve only sewn a few things!!  I have been enjoying my summer so it’s not a complete loss.   I don’t ordinarily blog when I remake something, but I think I’ll do a monthly round up for the blog.  I do post my makes on Instagram but I’m too lazy to to right a blog post.

I don’t have many plans for the fall, but I will be making a blazer and a cardigan/duster.  I’ll probably follow a sew along or two and play it by ear, so we will see.  I also need to purge some patterns, but I recon I say that every month so don’t hold your breathe on that.

Pattern Description:

Misses’ easy-to-sew dress with trim, length and neckline variations.
Customize yours with trimmings. Simplicity sewing pattern.

SEWING LEVEL: Beginner

SIZING:14-22 I cut a 22

Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?

Yes, however, I didn’t add all the lace, it was too much for me.
Were the instructions easy to follow?

Yes, I found no errors or instructions that were confusing.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?

I like the kimono sleeve, that seems to be on trend this year.  I also like that it’s an easy to sew pattern so not a lot of fitting.
What pattern changes did you make? I added 2.5 inches to the bodice as a cheater FBA.  I also made the sleeve a little smaller to give the sleeve and bust some shaping.

Fabric Used: Cotton blend.

I don’t think I’ll sew this again, but you never know.  How about you, are you ready for fall sewing?
