Pattern Review: Simplicity 1072 + Sweatshirt and velvet

I love this sweatshirt, I don’t know why I haven’t made this yet but I
see so much potential in this pattern.  Don’t you love comfort?  This
was my Thanksgiving day outfit and it was super comfy.

Pattern Description:

Misses’ Easy to Sew knit pants, skirt and top.
Dress up a simple sweatshirt with contrasting fabric in sequins or add
jewels or studs. Pair this top with a simple knit skirt or pants for a
casual everyday office look.  I made view D

What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?

 


I like the easy construction, and that there are variations.

Rayon blend Interlock Knit  and sparkly velvet

Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:

This is my muslin so I sewed it straight out of the package.  I cut the neckline at a size 22 and graded to a 24 from arm to hem since the neckline looks really wide from other reviews.

Would you sew it again? 


Yes, I plan on trying an applique and adjusting the neckline to see if I can get a narrower opening. I’m considering sewing the band one size smaller to see how that looks.  Also, the arms have a ton of ease and I will consider narrowing them to get a closer fit at the wrist.

Would you recommend it to others?

Yes, easy pattern, great for beginner.
