Pattern Review: Simplicity 1363+ Easy breezy top
Pattern Description:
easy-to-sew top has high low hemline with options for short raglan sleeves, cold-shoulder detail or sleeveless. create interest that flatters any body type using color blocking. back has key hole button closure. I made view D.
Pattern Sizing:
XXS-XXL
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Yes
Were the instructions easy to follow?
Yes
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
I like the loose fit, how easy it was to sew and the sleeve variations
Fabric Used:
Rayon Challis
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
* I cut a 22 or XL at the neck and graded to a 24 or a little less than the largest size XXL.
* I didn’t make the key hole at the back since it slipped over my head easily as per the other other reviews.
* I serged all seams and made a 5/8 inch hem
* I didn’t hand sew the neck band facing because I was lazy and tried to stitch in the ditch and well, it’s wonky. I will be more careful next time, but I like the top stitched look so I will do that in the future instead of hand stitching
Would you sew it again? Would you it to others?
Yes, thinking of making a dress.
I may also make the neck band larger to see if I like that.
Conclusion:
Great easy sew with minimal fitting issues, recommend using High bust for the neckline so it’s not to big and do a cheater FBA or grade out to accommodate your full bust. Overall a good pattern with lots of variations and potential.
